Gardner Lange

Attorney

Gardner's passion for defending individuals against injustice began early in his career. Before law school, Gardner spent six months living in Argentina where he researched and coauthored a law journal article examining the Inter‑American human rights system—an experience that strengthened his interest in advocacy across borders and in lawyering for people behind bars. Gardner chose to attend Texas Law specifically to immerse himself in immigration and detention work from the start of his legal training.

At Texas Law, Gardner served as the Editor in Chief of the Texas Hispanic Journal of Law and Policy, and the Submissions Editor for the Texas International Law Journal. Gardner was also an Advanced Student in the Immigration Clinic, where he prepared visa applications and honed his legal writing by drafting asylum appeals.

Following graduation, Gardner was awarded the G. Rollie White Trust Fellowship in Public Interest Law. With the Fellowship's funds, Gardner worked with both the Children’s Program and the Litigation Department at RAICES to build screening tools and systems that expanded access to federal courts for migrant youth. He continued with RAICES as a staff attorney, representing immigrant children and their families in immigration court and visa applications.
